Prosper High School’s basketball teams took on the Creekview Mustangs at home for the final home games of the season on Friday, February 2nd. The teams honored their senior players – Krista & Amanda English, Lexi Lightfoot, Mackenzie Hewitt, Jerry McElroy (2), Trey Utrup (3), Damon McLaurin (4), Ben Quinlan (5), Kyle Jessen (12), Taveion White (21), Kaleb Adams (22), Zach Wrightsil (23), Paxton Cleary (24), Jevin Jackson (32), Kris Wafer (33), and manager, Farai Silas. Both of the teams were able to stay in the lead throughout the games.
Jordyn Oliver led the girls team with 6 points and a score of 13-7 at the end of the first quarter. The end of the first half the ladies led Creekview 29-12 and continued to push, finishing off the third with a score of 49-50. The ladies won the game with a final score of 58-35.
The men kept the same momentum up as the ladies, ending the first quarter with a lead of 19-8 with three slam dunks on the board. The Eagles dominated the entire game, ending the half with a score of 43-15. Creekview tried to rally back in the 3rd and 4th quarters, but Prosper proved to be too much for them. The final score was 68-33.
Prosper, now 26-3, travels to Lake Dallas tonight, February 6th to take on the Falcons. When the two teams met last month, Prosper won 70-41. Coming up Friday evening, the Eagles will take on the Little Elm Lobos, who handed them their only district loss this season.
