The Prosper Wrestling team hosted the 2018 District II 5A tournament this past weekend. The tournament brought in some of the biggest state competition in Texas to the Prosper High School’s Arena. This was a 2-day tournament for the men’s team and a single day tournament for the ladies. Both groups represented Prosper during every match to the best of their ability. When all was said and done, the men’s team was awarded the district championship as a team and advanced thirteen individuals to Regionals! The ladies team was awarded runner-up to Liberty High School and will be advancing all seven of their teammates to the Regional Tournament!

285- Tristan Baugher – District Champion
All of these wrestlers will be competing this upcoming weekend at Frisco Independence High School at the regional tournament in hopes to secure their spot at the State Wrestling tournament.
Adding to the awards being earned by the wrestlers, James Wujek was privileged to be voted on by all the coaches in the entire tournament as the “Outstanding Boys Wrestler” of the District Tournament and Coach King was awarded as the “Boys Coach of the Year.” This tournament was a good look at what the rest of the season will look like and the wrestlers are all in the process of training for the competition to come.
