Basketball- One Last District Showdown
On Tuesday night the boy’s basketball team played their last regular season game at Plano East. This game would also be Plano’s senior night, but that didn’t mean the boys were going to take it easy on them.
The first points of the game came from an Ammon Allan (Senior) no look pass to Austin Atkinson (Senior) who put up a quick layup. Drama from East’s Coach on the bench who lead to Neal Utrup (Junior) makes 2/2 tech shots. Going into the locker room at half, the Eagles lead the Panthers 31-26.
In the 3rd quarter, Prosper went on a 10-0 scoring run with a 3 from Atkinson, 2 from Jaythan Jackson (Junior), 2 from Mondo Battle II (Senior), and Jackson with a rebound for 2 and 1. The Eagles ended up winning 71-61, making their final district record 11-3 with an overall record of 27-6. This marks Prosper’s 7th year of playoffs. The boys next game is tomorrow night at The Colony HS, against Sachse

Softball- Live in College Station
This past weekend, the softball team was in College Station where they saw some tough opponents. Going 2-4 in the tournament, the girls continue their preparation to dominate in districts
They started strong with a 4-2 victory over Fredericksburg. Jessica Malan (Junior) and Julia Bumford (Senior) helped the Eagles along, each scoring a run. Grace Berlage pitched a great game only allowing 1 run and 2 strikeouts. Sydney Lewis (Sophomore) and Abbey Beasley (Junior) would come in to close out the game and secure Prosper’s first win of the weekend
The second win came on Friday in a face off against the Klein Bearkats. This 9-4 victory was thanks to Malan, Lewis, and Ayden Allen (Sophomore) who lead the team in hits. The eagles got up 6-0 before allowing 4 runs in the 4th inning. Once again, Grace Berlage would pitch a great game for the Eagles and secure the win. The girl’s next game is tomorrow night at Southlake.

Baseball- Goodbye Southlake
The baseball team also saw success this weekend with a win of 2x State Champion, the Southlake Dragons. The 9-3 dominating feat was accomplished with the special help of Easton Carmichael (Sophomore) who went 2-3 at bat, as well as some key plays at catcher. On the mound, Prosper had Josh Barnhouse (Junior) 2 scoreless innings, as well as Lucas Davenport (Sophomore) with 2 scoreless innings. Prosper will face off against Wakeland and CP Vista Ridge on Thursday in their next tournament.

Wrestling- They Came, They Saw, They Conquered
Prosper saw a victorious weekend across the board, and Wrestling kept that streak alive at state. The girls placed 19th with the help of Taylor Martinez (Sophomore) in 4th, and JJ Baugher (Senior) with a 6th place finish. The boys earned an 11th place finish with the aid of LJ Richardson (Junior) in 4th place, and 6a UIL State CHAMPION Rylan Bonds (Senior). Congratulations to these athletes as they finish their season strong

Lady Eagle Soccer- #1 in the State of Texas
The girl’s soccer team holds onto their No. 1 rank for another weak, after victories over McKinney and Plano East.
The Tuesday night win over McKinney was won by a goal from Haley Nichols (Junior) and 2 goals from Jordyn Herrera (Sophomore) and Abigail Wilson (Sophomore). Wilson also played a key role in assisting the goals, as well as Reese Cross (Senior).
Friday night the Eagles played a close win over the Panthers. Nichols once again showed out on the field as well as Lauren Miller (Senior). Herrera also made her mark on the field again with both assists on the night. The next game is against McKinney Boyd tomorrow night at home.

Eagle Soccer- On Top Again
Prosper soccer is up right now, and the boy’s team is no exception! They are currently on a 3-game win streak with most recent wins over McKinney and Plano East.
They came out with a 3-1 win over the McKinney Lions on Tuesday, and a 3-2 victory over the Panthers Friday. Goal scorers for the Plano game were Jack Simonini (Senior), Ryan Hogg (Senior), and Nathan Smith (Senior). Nick Torres (Senior) as well as Cole Newman (Junior) secured the win for the Eagles on the defensive side. The boys are sitting at No. 2 behind Allen in district standings, and their next game will be against Jesuit at home.
