Matthew and Melissa Jones met at Jersey Mike’s Subs Shop in Frisco, Texas. It was there that the two found a love for each other and a love for the company they worked for. After 5 years of employment at the Preston and Rolater location in Frisco, the two have now ventured off and started their own business.
On Wednesday, June 28th the two were all smiles as they welcomed their first guests into their new venture – Jersey Mikes Subs located at 4740 West University Drive, Suite 150, in Prosper, Texas.
Jersey Mike’s Subs started in Point Pleasant, New Jersey in 1956. The small sandwich shop was a huge success in the community and was then purchased in the 70’s by now CEO Peter Cancro, who has now opened 50 stores in North Texas and as many as 1,300 across the nation.
Matthew and Melissa are thankful that they have the opportunity to open their first business in such a wonderful community. They are also proud to be a part of such a great business. Jersey Mike’s has such a positive and upbeat culture corporately as well as at the store level.
Jersey Mike’s is also known for it’s ideology of giving back to the community. The owners and employees of the new location have mailed over 3,000 cards to the area that offer new guests a sub sandwich with a $1.00 donation to Kids Prosper Kids. The free sub card must be redeemed from June 25 – July 1. Kids Prosper Kids is a not-for-profit organization that was started and is led by group of passionate students that want to make a lasting change for trafficked children in Ghana, West Africa.
