Saturday, January 20th was another great day for the Prosper Swim and Dive team! They came home with their 8th consecutive District Championship! Coach Milne said, “As a coach, I am extremely proud of these kids and their dedication to the sport they love!”
The Girls team won with a total of 208 points, squashing the competition as the 2nd place team only scored 70. The Boys team also won with a commanding finish at 189 points, with the 2nd place team coming in with 80.
Here are a few memorable and standout moments from the District 5-5A swim meet:
The Girls team took 1st in all 3 relays (200 Medley, 200 Free and 400 Free).
The Boys team took 1st in the 400 Free Relay and 2nd in the 200 Free Relay, losing by a very narrow margin.
As a team, Prosper took 1st place in 14 of the the 24 events!
Both the Girls and the Boys swept the 500 Free, winning 1st, 2nd and 3rd!
In addition to taking 1st overall for both boys and girls Prosper received the following awards:
Freshman Parker Burton received Boy Diver of the Meet
Freshman Myka Sullivan received Girl Diver of the Meet
Freshman Mithuun Ramesh received Boy Swimmer of the Meet
Coach Sarah Milne received both Boys and Girls Coach of the Meet
In order to advance to the Region Meet, each athlete must place 1st-6th at District in their event or relay. Prosper will be represented at our Region meet in ALL 24 events by 29 swimmers and 2 divers, 31 total athletes!
