Music in the Park was a Huge Success!

Music in the Park 2018 was a great success on May 12th. Originally scheduled on April 21, the torrential rain in Prosper that weekend prompted the event to be pushed back a few weeks. And lucky for everyone, the weather did not disappoint on the makeup date! With the beautiful sunshine and a cool summer breeze, thousands showed up that evening for food trucks, shopping vendors, Windmill Playground and the sounds of the Satellite band. There were food assortments that ranged from Poppa’s Pit barbeque to Nacho Libre’s street tacos to Pink’s giant corn dogs, along with coffee specials from Honeylu’s and Kona Ice to wash it all down.

As participants began to set up blankets and chairs for the evening, there was a magical excitement that filled the park. Families had come to enjoy a gorgeous Prosper evening, complete with a radiant sunset and live music. Parents, children and even some 4-legged friends filled the park. At 7:30, Satellite, the chosen entertainment for this annual event, came out hot and worked hard to get the crowd involved. They belted out popular Top 40s hits, as well as some classic nostalgic tunes that brought the crowd to their feet. The pavilion was filled with children showing off their dance moves and interacting with the band as parents and families enjoyed the music that filled the park. As the daylight faded, Satelitte turned up the lights and the music and the entire park was thumping and pulsating with the beat.

This year’s sponsors were showcased throughout the evening and participated in lots of prize giveaways. There were fun light-up finger toys, coolers, lawn chairs and water bottles, just to name a few. Making the evening possible were Cedarbrook Media, Bodine Orthodontics, Longo Toyota, Crest Exteriors, Kona Ice, Prosper Family Dentistry, Texas Amps & Axes and the Town of Prosper.

In addition to all the fun, event goers had a chance to stroll through Vendor Row and see all the different tents and booths. In attendance were Color Street Nail Strip, Kid Approved Pediatrics, Post and Elm Boutique, Professional Black Belt Academy, Kiddie Academy of Prosper, Functional Health Center, Usborne Books & More, vomFASS, Adriatica Women’s Health, Jungle Joe’s, Center Stage A/V, Hunter Syndrome Foundation, The Amazing Dip Company, American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, Tiger Bear Industries, Stella and Dot, Prosper Chamber of Commerce, and Matilda Jane.
