Senior Week PowderPuff Game

As the school year came to an end, the 2018 Senior class lived out their last week of high school with celebratory traditions during senior week. On Tuesday, May 22nd, the Seniors made their way over to Eagle Stadium for a fierce competition with the Juniors for the annual PowderPuff game. In traditional PowderPuff fashion, the tables were turned as the ladies played football and the boys coached and acted as the cheerleaders.

Seniors Hailey Davidson and Haley Killinger were both successful with running and passing the ball. But not to be outdone, Junior Jordan Oliver was on fire for the Class of 2019, intercepting 2 passes and running to score a touchdown. With the help of some good-natured questionable calls from the referees, the final score came down to 7-6, as the seniors snatched the victory. The referees for the evening consisted of PISD Superintendents Dr. Drew Watkins, Mrs. Holly Ferguson and Dr. Greg Bradley.

Behind the scenes the MC for the night was Mr. Keith Kirkland. Kathy Nelms lead the tech crew, which included Quinton Williams, Cooper Harris, Tyler Grinstead and Eric Clark.

The halftime entertainment didn’t disappoint as Nathan Ballard and Zach Wachter wowed the fans with a dynamic performance and cheer routine that included the songs “Dancing Queen” and popular favorite, “My Girl.” As the night came to a close, the students, parents and faculty all met at center field as the seniors said one last goodbye to their beloved Eagle Stadium.
